When the news gets so depressing, and our government's response continues to be avoidance rather than responsibility, there are days like the past few when it seems like there is no good person left among them who might speak the truth or rouse their reason.
And so the wait grows ever more futile, looking for a sign of hope from those who have power. There is no one among these Republicans who will humble themselves enough to admit error, so there is none among them who can change their own disastrous course.
Alas, there are no more heroes on the right. Only victims, lemmings and rogues.
